This layer should just cover the tape and create a smooth transition to the wall. Use a putty knife to flatten the compound, ensuring the corner bead is flush with the wall surface.

Drying and Sanding：Allow the second layer to dry completely, then lightly sand the surface with fine sandpaper to remove any bumps or irregularities. After sanding, use a brush to clean off any dust, ensuring a clean surface.

Optional Second Coat (for High Standards)：If a higher finish quality is desired (such as in premium renovations), apply a third thin layer of joint compound after sanding. This will further refine the smoothness. After it dries, sand lightly again.

Final Decorative Treatment：Once the joint compound is dried and sanded, proceed with the decorative finishing. If applying latex paint, start with a coat of primer in the corner bead area to enhance adhesion, followed by the topcoat to ensure straight lines and even color. If wallpapering, wait until the joint compound is fully dry to ensure a secure and smooth application.
