Pre‑cutting dimension calculation
Before cutting, take the bracket base as the centre and extend at least 100 mm outward in all directions as the reinforced coverage area. This overlap width ensures that the new mesh can effectively transfer stress with the main mesh, avoiding cracks caused by uneven shrinkage.
Radial slit cutting method
For circular brackets, we recommend the "radial slit method": centre the square mesh over the bracket, then cut 6 to 8 radial slits evenly outward from the centre to form several trapezoidal flaps. This technique allows the mesh to naturally conform to the curved surface of the bracket base, fitting tightly against the substrate without bulging. Note that fewer than 4 slits will not allow full flattening, while more than 10 slits excessively weaken the mesh integrity – so strict control is essential.
Layered pressing and overlap coverage
Place the cut mesh onto the rendering mortar and, using a trowel, press each flap flat from the centre outward, ensuring that the mortar fully fills the mesh openings. The embedment depth should be controlled at about 1 mm. Afterwards, cut an additional 200 mm wide annular reinforcing mesh around the bracket root and apply it as a second layer. The overlap between the main mesh and the reinforcing mesh must be no less than 100 mm. Avoid forcibly folding the mesh to wrap the bracket, as this damages the glass fibre orientation and reduces tensile strength.
